Such humble beginnings with the runway models and fashion designers as a teenager in Miami. I recall fondly just how serious those fashion week photographers were during the shows. Apparently, having the best position at the end of the catwalk was a thing.

Because it was my first experience at such a venue, I did not take it that seriously. But I also respected the opportunity that Kevin Coleman was providing. He saw something in me that day at Art Basel in Wynwood. Red Dot Fair was it? Or Spectrum? Memoirs.

How much does fashion change in a decade? Do the classics outweigh the trends over time? If one examined runway photography from nearly 10 years ago, could they tell the difference from the present? Yield my time to critics, as I cannot see past the beauty.

There is no need to compare Fashion Week in Miami to New York.

But, if it had to be done, baby Miami is certainly on the up and up.

Funkshion Fashion Week holds strong next to Miami Fashion Week.

A hosting in Midtown and Design District over the years. New home.

Each year, new fashion designers get an opportunity at Funkshion.

Models cycle in/out over time. But the measurements stay the same.

Cultural abundance and diversity. Fashionable thawbs and hijabs.

Jad Ghandour was crazed as the most anticipated on the runway.

So Put Your Number

On This Paper

Something about the collection and show of Gustavo Cadile that has stayed with me over the years. Lighting. Design. Seductive personality. Outside of real estate and music, the fashion scene has taught me some things about the unforgiving importance of presentation.

Series is influenced by the very concepts that make fashion shows so effective. Moderation. Models entering the runway one at a time, giving viewers just enough to analyze in the moment. Detail. Curated, tasteful wardrobe that speak directly to the vision of its designer.

Those who execute such fashion shows have an understanding of how to create and capture value through presentation. Just like Series.  It is not crazy the many ways one can find inspiration these days?  Though I still shake my head over Saks and those shopping parties.
