Pura vida with a heavy dose of surf culture. The cool kids at Somos put me onto the best surf spots during my sojourn in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Mid tide delivered barrels and point breaks that had these wave acrobats drooling.

As I ATV’ed Calle Cóbano, onlooking the beaches of Hermosa, Banana, and Mal País, I arrived at Playa Santa Teresa just as sunlight pierced through the formidable billows. Ocean waters accumulated various tints and hues.

Football on the coastal wet sand. Universal sand castles and surf boards. The happiest dogs ever witnessed by humankind. What a magical life set deep within this remote yet buzzing region of the Puntarenas province.

Those infinity views. Rendezvous with Pacific Ocean and Costa Rica.

Surfing. A religious lifestyle with bottom turns, floaters, and cutbacks.

Like clockwork. Life guards with the oculars to monitor those bailing.

Footballers playing the dry game before dipping into the whitewash.

The last glimpse of seasoned surfers carving set waves. So gnarly.

Surf photography pairing nicely with 70-200. The dream? 200-400.

One Post A Day For A Year

The commitment I have made with Instagram. Go take a peak at the colorful mood board that has formed. A nice tropical stroll down a decade’s worth of visuals from projects all around the globe. And this is only an appetizer.

XYNN with a cast iron skillet. More Story’s are searing on the range over an open flame. Upcoming: To Drone in New York II, Our New Baby Girls, Muscles & Mushrooms, Uninhabited Dimensions Visual Hysteria, and a lot more.

For a novice surfer like myself, watching these semi-professionals aerial off one wave to the next and maneuver through a-frame breaks was tantalizing. Yair Marcoschamer, more surf lessons please. Meanwhile, back at the villa.
